Named “Cara Nueva” (New Face) by People Magazine (En Espanol), Angie Ruiz recently joined the cast of Daniel Craig starrer, FLASHBACKS OF A FOOL directed by Baillie Walsh. She has been featured at the ALMA Awards hosted by Eva Longoria and was a presenter at the 20th Annual Imagen Awards, hosted by George Lopez. Angie has appeared in films for Lions Gate, Maverick Entertainment, FoxSearchlight, and Miramax including SURF SCHOOL, IN YOUR EYES, BEE SEASON, and 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS.

The Genesis Files, an action packed series created by Hollywood veterans Steve Pink
(Entourage, Grosse Point Blank) and Dean Alioto.
Born and raised in Northern California, Angie attended and graduated from Cal Poly University (San Luis Obispo) where she earned a degree in Business and International Relations. After graduation, she moved to San Francisco. Her interests shifted to film and theatre after landing a small role opposite Josh Hartnett in the 2002 Miramax romantic comedy, 40 Days and 40 Nights. She honed her theatrical skills abroad at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London and appeared on stage in Richard ll at the Vanbrugh Theatre.
Angie has also studied with noted acting teachers, Cameron Thor, Warner Loughlin and Margie Haber in Los Angeles.
In addition to her film career, Angie is a devoted humanitarian. She began volunteering in college for such programs as The Special Olympics and continued in San Francisco with Meals on Wheels.
Her first international volunteer experience took her to Tanzania (East Africa) where she worked with WAMATA, a non-government organization that raises HIV/AIDS awareness with their drama group organizing staged plays and songs in villages with high illiteracy rates. The experience led her to create a modest foundation, Wandering Star, that launched two grassroots, education based programs with the aim of assisting the people she met. She visits Tanzania each year to assist with both programs as well as visit with the gifted teens that she has sponsored to attend professional schools.
Angie has been a guest speaker in Washington D.C. and a participant at the United Nations 51st Session on the Status of Women. She has also been the guest of the National Museum of Kenya and Rutger's University professor and leading anthropologist, Dr. Jack Harris on a visit Koobi Fora where she met many of the tribesman who inhabit Northern Kenya. Her travels have included visits to Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania with Professor Robert Blumenshein and the jungles of India where she visited several Tiger Habitats to learn more about Tiger conservation.
Angie lives in Los Angeles. She has traveled to over twenty countries and speaks Spanish, conversational French and is learning Swahili. Her Wandering Films production company has plans to produce a documentary on the inspirational stories of the women she has met in East Africa.
